On my way to the LA Times crossword (it rocks, its addictive, don't try it because you will get hooked), I caught the headlines that Senator Edward Kennedy (D-MA) has been diagnosed with a malignant glioma over the weekend in Boston.
While you or I may disagree with the man's politics, being diagnosed with a brain tumor is no easy task. I should know, I was diagnosed with one 8 years ago.
My tumor was an Oligodendroglioma, an apparently very rare (source - Brain Tumor Society) tumor that typically invades the cerebral hemisphere. While that time of my life was incredibly scary, and filled with nervousness and anxiety, I was lucky, my tumor was benign. I put my life and my faith in the hands of my incredibly skilled neurosurgeon, and he extracted the tumor. Its taken me a long time to recover, but I did recover....
...I hope that Ted Kennedy has an outcome like I did.
My heart and my well wishes go out to Sen. Kennedy. Good luck...and God bless...
Searching for lots of things...but just a name right now
