Why Vasa at the Airport

What type of sweatheart deal did VASA water sign with the Department of Homeland Security?  As a consultant, I've been to many airports...and they all serve VASA water.  Not Aquafina.  Not Dasani.  And not Nestle.......but Vasa.  I've never seen Vasa anywhere else...have you?

  1. I found this post after Googling "Vasa Water" -- honestly, why aren't more people asking this question?

How did Vasa get a monopoly on the airport water deal? What was the deal? How on earth did an unknown company win such a huge deal?

I had never seen that brand anywhere other than behind the security lines of an airport until today - inside my fridge at a Marriot Residence Inn in rural east Texas was a bottle of Vasa - $3.00 if I opened it.

At first I assumed the feds needed some brand of water that was only sold behind security lines, so airline and security staff could easily identify bottles of water that somehow passed through security. But now, having seen Vasa sold in my hotel room, that theory is out...
